DIARY OF A 21ST CENTURY SAINT.
Really I don’t know how you found my diary, I’m wondering, as in I think a diary’s meant to be personal, but noo you just had to find my diary didn’t you? imagine you guys are reading ma diary. But no worries I prepared for a situation like this, just in case you nosy fella’s found it. Well the safety mechanism is that, I planned this and I purposely left this where you’ld find it, ha ha. Where did you find it anyways; on the shelf, with a friend, well it does’nt matter how or where so far you are reading it now. OK! Why would I wanna leave you ma diary? I guess there are some stuff I just wanna share with you, that I believe are very important and priceless, things I am privileged to know. As you turn the pages of this diary, I urge you to get thrilled, get inspired and get aware “life is worth living baby, the world’s waiting for you”
I am a saint, how do I know this? You might ask, well, I have received salvation, I’d answer. I am saved; by grace through faith to be precise, as the bible says. So I am Christian, like duh! Hmm, em.. someone asked me, so you write about Christian stuff, and I replied, I am christian, what else would I wanna talk or write about. Really it would be unfair if I’d be selfish with all the good and inspiring stuff I have gained, not only gained but experienced by following Christ steadfastly (by His GRACE through FAITH) ,you know what I’am talking about right? Trust me, if you ain’t Christian you would want in on being Christian at the end of the day, when you realize what you can do, learn, my GOD give! Basically when you see that you are actually and originally from a “Bloodline of Champions” So I just gotta spread the faith bro!
Yeah so it’s a diary, ma diary and I am a saint living in the 21st century, my gosh! With all the distractions and fruitless, yet enticing stuffs all around me. Guys em, I’d be telling you truths I know, not by my might, trying to be humble here, em as I was saying truths, and please you’d permit me if am a little blunt, because I am not just writing for the sake of writing, I ain’t writing for you guyz just to read and say hmm this is actually nice and all ... you dig? I’d love you guyz to be impacted and am really hoping you’d make good use of the information passed across. Now am sounding serious…haa haa.
Yo! Lets get started, sorry! Chill a bit, I gotta go get something quickly, don’t go anywhere, I’ll be right back……….. Yeah I’am back, em as I was saying, what was I saying again? Just kidding. Basically I’d be talking about my days, how I and definitely referring to y’all too, how you, how we live our lives everyday.
First, let’s set some things straight. We have some things or let me call them truths that need to be known, to empower and enable us to live our lives happy and fulfilled “True truths”, yes I’d call them
True truths… so let’s number them from the beginning, obviously… so!
True Truth 1.
We are all different
Yep! Different, we are created with different personalities. Meaning what? We are different. We have different goals, aspirations, likes, dislikes, basically we have different interests. But this doesn’t dispute the fact that we do sometimes have similar interests. Don’t worry, I would expatiate, let’s move on to…
True Truth 2, see guys I really don’t know how many True Truths there are, bet there are a whole lot of them, but trust me this are some of the most important ones, I am sure as we grow in Jesus we would get revelation into them. Believe we all know the BIBLE contains the truest true truths you can find, so it’s obviously the basic manual to living right with God and one another. Amen?
Yeah so True Truth 2.
You can Achieve Anything.
Anything and everything is possible, with God on your side, remember this scripture? “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” yeah all things.
Now you are expecting the third true truth right? … Well as we go journey through this diary, more truths would be told, so let’s get started already!
Anyways True Truth 3 is “You are responsible for your actions.” Like I don’t know that already, really do you?
When I say actions, I believe we know that we are responsible for our thoughts and our thoughts birth our actions. You can actually choose what to think. I can remember the bible talking about casting down imaginations, basically evil imaginations and engaging your mind in thinking good and holy thoughts that benefit you. Phil 4:8 to be precise goes thus “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things” You dig?
Amen. Hmm, there’s a lot to talk about or write about, anyways... Am excited, hope you are ….SO!
Dear Diary,
This is the first of my many conversations with you, I bet you want to know how my day went or is going, well let me gist you; a thought dropped in my head, “what is my motive for doing what I do” motive in the sense of what? Let’s clarify this em, do I where a very nice shirt to be noticed and admired by people? So people can see me and say hey… you look so nice. Again, do I give or do good stuff so people can praise me and say what a good person I am?
Lets paint a scenario, I was going to the cafeteria and I had an inclination or urge in my spirit to, before I go further, please note that I ain’t writing this so you can talk about how good a person I am. Yeah as I was saying, I felt the need to get something for the security guards in front of my hall of residence, why? Cos’ they looked kinda gloomy and unhappy, cos’ I believe here came a whole lotta students carrying edibles into the hall, and the guards just sat there looking at people or listening to the radio. I know it’s their job and all too just sit down and watch, but I just had a feeling to reach out to them, basically. So I went to the café, met a friend there, we both bought ewa ganyin and I got two bottles of zobo for the guards. We got in front of the hall, I and ma hommie where gisting so I told him to chill then I gave the guards the chilled bottle of zobo. And they were surpised, I quickly gave it to them and just told them I felt like giving them or something like that, and I left so my flesh won’t get praise or gratified for the good I felt I did, even in front another person. And God bless my friend, cos’ I thought he was gonna go all “wow that was soo nice, you are soo kind and all” but am glad he didn’t cause I did not do it for anybody to praise me or for the guards to see me next time and hail me cause of what I managed to do. Hope you get the drift? So diary what I’m telling you is that I gat ma motives right before I did the did. Basically it deals with the heart “the reason behind the pleasing” hmm rhema. The reason for your actions, should be the right ones, even if others notice you and comment or complement; it should’nt get to your head, do things because you feel the need to do them and not to get praised or gratify the flesh. Let’s see this reference from the book of truths; the bible; Matt 6:2-6; “Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly. And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly”
But ahh! Diary, hmm that zobo was cold I did’nt even get for myself, just imagine! Ha ha, don’t mind me. Anyways I hope you get the point. OH NO! Now that I have told you, what happens? It’s like blowing ma trumpet! But am I? I don’t think so cos’ I told you with a right motive for the right purpose; to edify you. “Our motives matter”
